When I was little, I was a slim child. Growing up in Kingston, Jamaica, I was immersed in the richness of Jamaican cuisine. I developed a love for my island-nation's food, which consumed me. It wasn't long before my slender physique was replaced with a chubbier version.
This reality, combined with the comments about my weight from people at school, caused me to have low self-esteem. I used to try starving myself to lose weight and I knew that wasn’t the way. My mother was also living with diabetes, so when I attended Jamaica College, I knew I wanted to help people heal through food.
I studied nutrition and got my BSc in Dietetics and Nutrition. I then paired my newfound knowledge with my well-measured love of food. That combination, with exercise, it helped me mentally, emotionally, and physically. And I knew I wanted to help other people feel as good as I felt!
Today, and for the rest of your life, this page will be more than just your guide in the world of nutrition. I will solve frequently asked questions, while also equipping you with the knowledge and skills required to better your own confidence in yourself.
